These days as electronic and digital devices surround us, we have unlimited access to information whenever we want and wherever we are. Most of us don’t really go buy a traditional book or visit the library anymore. We prefer instead to Google our information or to download eBooks. Since this is getting so available, we actually can read information on our smartphone while travelling. Recently even schools and universities adopted this learning style due to the fact they can gave new and updated information all around the clock. eLearning is more attractive for students and more modern. I have to admit that all my paperwork from university studies were all made using online information and the results I delivered were always the best, getting to take my teachers by surprise. I used to find latest news and data in the field I was doing the research, rather than the old and traditional information a library can offer you.
How may it improve our experience?
ELearning offers the possibility of studying from a distance, so now it is possible to attend university classes even if they are not in the same city with you, because you don’t have to travel over there. You can actually access all the need class information online, from the university website, as they develop a special section where they upload in electronic the matters of study. Of course, there is always the possibility of improving the learning experience by searching on the Internet extra information if you want to enlarge your knowledge package.
This type of electronic learning is much more attractive and has the property of engaging the audience by using different media types that deliver information in text format, audio, video, animation, making it so complex and easy to comprehend than the traditional method from studying from a book. Just think about Physics, it is so much easier to understand its laws if you can actually see an animation depicting it, instead of trying to gather all that information by simply looking at a written formula.
Thinking about all the benefits it brings us, eLearning has the educational support and tools that can sustain any traditional matters, it is a technological medium that can be used in knowledge communication, development and easy exchange, it can be actually the subject itself for courses, it contains all the administrative tools to do the job such as education management information systems. All of these properties, that can be called subcategories of eLearning, shows how complex this process can become, covering a very wide media area and having the possibility of reaching to so many people in the same time.
The purpose of creating eLearning was to develop a learning method that will increase the enthusiasm and engagement of the audience, and in the same time to present information into formats that are much easier to digest. The result being in a better comprehension of the data packages, attendants of electronic classes incorporating a larger amount of data than the ones that participate to traditional classes.
